First thing this morning my neighbor lady came to pick up her mail we've been collecting while she was meeting her husband in Paris on his way home from working as a translator in Afghanistan. The husband brought Tom a thank-you-gift: a silk Afghani coat (with unusually long sleeves) because Tom takes out their garbage cans for the wife each week.
